Seattle Martin Luther King Jr Organizing Coalition.
Young Leaders Internship Program
We, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Organizing Coalition of Seattle, select excited high school students to aid in event planning for MLK Day 2026. The Coalition is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Since 1982, the coalition has planned events for the holiday weekend, which include a march, rally, job fair, community meal, and civic-minded workshops.
Interns have the opportunity to participate and influence the planning process, to meet some of Seattle's civil rights leaders (who were key in getting more fair laws in the 1960s and beyond), and to work directly with the activists currently leading the Coalition.
